Materials needed for Crochet Summer Top:
- Sock weight yarn in 3 colors (I am using brown, white, and grey)
- 3 mm crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Stitch markers (if needed)
Gauge:
No specific gauge is needed
Notes:
Don’t count 1st chain at the beginning of the row as a stitch.
This pattern has a large number of the same rows.
The instructions are in US terms.
Abbreviations:
ch- chain
st – stitch
slst – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
bl – back loop

Measurements:
these measurements are achieved with my hook size. Different hook sizes and yarn weights will yield different measurements.
The waist is 11 inches
Length is 8.5 inches including the shoulder straps.

Start working in the magic ring
R1: ch1, ” 2 dc, ch1″ x 6, slst (12 DC)
R2: ch1, “2 dc, ch1, 2 dc” in each ch sp, slst (24 dc)
R3: ch1, 7 DC in each ch sp, slst (42 DC)
R4: ch1, ” 7 sc, 1 spike sc”, rep across round, slst (48 sc)
Make 35 more complete flowers

Half flowers x 12:
Work in the magic ring
R1: ch1, 1dc, ch1, “2dc, ch1” x 3, 1 dc, turn(8 dc)
R2: ch1, 3 dc in ch sp, “2 dc, ch1, 2dc” x 3, 3 dc in last ch sp, slst(14 dc)
R3: ch1, 3 dc between 1st and 2nd sts, ” 7 dc in ch sp” x 2, 3 dc between last 2 sts turn( 20 dc)
R4: ch1, 3 sc, 1 spike sc, ” 7 sc, 1 spike sc” x 2, 3 sc (23 sc)
Make 11 more half flowers

joining:
Arrange the flowers as shown. This is the front part shown in the picture below. Repeat the same sequence for the back side as well.

Sew these flowers together. Use a tapestry needle and grey color yarn. The stitching is explained in our video tutorial as well.

Make a round of sc on all the edges where we have half the flowers. This will give a sleek and neat look to the edge. Exclude the shoulder straps.

Cut long pieces of yarn. Mine are 15 inches long.
Take 3 pieces and weave like a tassel, in the edge round of sc.
Skip 3 sts and make the next tassel. Keep repeating the sequence on the back and front.
